Drinking (chai) is a beautiful community activity devised entirely for the purposes of conversations, searches, and changes. We don’t pretend to lead India or the world, but basically want to be the few looking for many who strive to enrichen the world’s thinking capacity and sensitivity.
Cultures are mixing at a rapid level these days and probably Chai Kadai, like any tea shop has been for centuries, is a tool for cultural studies. Here, we aim to provide good writing and art that kindles imagination and controversies, because disagreement is the first step to conversation.
We attempt to delve into trivialities and metaphysical entities with the similar fervent spirits. Moreover, we will also present to you many interviews (conversations) with exciting personalities who live among us as symbols of mixing cultures and as catalysts of change. Yet again, we emphasize that experience has to be followed by expression, and then by conversation. So, join us aboard.
Chai Kadai was launched in October 2008, with a vision of bringing together everyone interested in discussing culture, society, sexuality, human rights, and life in general. This is a place dedicated to expression in all forms like fiction, poetry, essays, criticism, commentaries, dialogues, interviews, films, and visual art. This was conceived as a collective that promotes and creates avenues for discussions and debates that instigate social and individual change.
